The second dose of Covid-19 vaccine to the front line workers started in J&K along with whole India with officials said that on day one around 1,000 health care workers got a second dose of Covid-19.
State immunization officer Dr Qazi Haroon told news agency— that around 1,000 health workers got a second dose of Covid vaccine on Saturday.
Pertinently, a second dose was given to those beneficiaries who have taken the first dose on January 16, the day when the world’s biggest immunization drive was launched.
“The second dose is given to the beneficiaries after an interval of 28 days of first dose,” he said.
Dr Haroon further added that on Saturday 17,200 front line workers from different departments received the first jab of Covid vaccination.
He said that so far around 1 lakh 30 thousand front line workers including 55,000 health care workers have received first dose of vaccine so far.
Asked that there are reports that 83 percent health care workers have refused to take Covid vaccine, he said that it happened only in GMC Srinagar and at rest of the places vaccination is going normally
